Macarena Carrascosa

My name is Macarena. My family moved to Aotearoa from Argentina in 2003. I took up roller skating when I was 4 years old and never stopped! I’ve been to the NZ Artistic Roller Skating National Championships (2004-2018), Oceanias (2008-2018), 3 World Championships for Junior Solo Dance (2011-2013), America’s Cup (2019) and World Roller Games for Senior Solo Dance (2019). My highest World Ranking was 7th place in 2012 in Junior Solo Dance.

I completed a Bachelor of Science double major in Psychology and Sport and Exercise Science in 2015.

Mercedes Carrascosa

Hi I’m Mercedes!

I’ve revolved my life around skating, ever since I could walk, thanks to Macarena being in the sport already.

I’ve competed at New Zealand nationals, almost every year since the age of 4, have been to and medaled at four Oceania Championships, and attended Americas cup in 2019 as well as two world skate seminars (2019 & 2020). My first World Roller Games as a junior was in 2019 and I’m still waiting to go again as a senior.

I was selected for the NZ 2021 worlds team but was unable to go due to the pandemic.

I’ve been sharing my knowledge and love for skating as a coach since 2014 and I love being a part of growing the sport!

Eira Jones

Hi my name is Eira.

I started rollerskating towards the end of 2018 and was immediately hooked. Not long after getting my first pair of rollerskates, I found a youtube video of the "Moxi girls" doing insane tricks at the skatepark and was blown away. I was so inspired that I took my skates to the park the very next day, and the rest is history. I now skate as a sponsored athelete for various companies, help host and organise park skating comps, and even teach park skating across auckland. In my spare time I host roll outs to promote exercising on skates in a positive environment.

Outside of skating Im a mum to a little boy, and a senior registered nurse.
